1. Isro, MapmyIndia join hands to take on Google's Maps, Earth products 

  • Indian Space Research Organisation and location and navigation technology solutions provider MapmyIndia announced an initiative to partner together to offer India's best, and fully indigenous, mapping portal and geospatial services.
  • It combines the power of MapmyIndia's digital maps and technologies with ISRO's catalogue of satellite imagery and earth observation data
  • He termed it a path-breaking milestone in India's journey towards 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat', wherein Indian users would not be dependent on foreign organisations for maps, navigation and geospatial services, and leverage made-in-India solutions instead.

2. 10th Annual Convention of Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India Begins at Kevadia Gujarat

  • Union Minister of State (IC) for Tourism & Culture, Prahlad Singh Patel has said that PM Modi's slogan 'Dekho Apna Desh'  has given boost to domestic tourism

3. Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari launches India’s first CNG Tractor

  • With this, farmers will be able to save more than 1 trillion annually on fuel cost, which will help them to improve their livelihood, 
  • It is safer as CNG tanks come with a tight seal, which reduces the possibility of explosion while refueling or in the event of a spill

4. Meghalaya police signs Mou with SBI for implementation of e-challan

  • The e-Challan system which will be launched in the days to come is a digital traffic enforcement solution whereby, imposing of penalties on violators of traffic rules and generating of challan will be done digitally.
  • The system has been integrated with VAHAN & SARATHI applications and this will enable the Traffic Officials to fetch the details of the traffic violator such as vehicle and driver’s details through these applications, thereby, reducing the time taken to issue challan.

5. Indian Navy undertaking mega exercise Tropex in Indian Ocean Region

  • The biennial 'Theatre Level Operational Readiness Exercise (TROPEX)' aims to validate the Navy's offensive as well as defence capabilities and safeguard national interests in the maritime domain besides promoting peace and stability in the Indian Ocean
