1. Spices Board inks deal with UNDP to develop blockchain-powered traceability interface.

• Traceability interface for Indian spices to enhance transparency in supply chain and trade.
• Blockchain is a decentralized process of recording transactions on an open and shared electronic ledger.
• Interface with the e-spice Bazaar portal developed by Spices Board India for connecting spices farmers with markets.

2. Ram Nath Kovind appoints Justice NV Ramana as next chief justice of india.

• Justice Ramana will take oath as the 48th CJI on April 24 and will have a tenure of one year and four months.

3. Russian President Vladimir Putin signs law allowing him to stay in power till 2036.

• The legislation was passed in the lower and upper houses of the Russian Parliament last month.

4. The Centre has announced a public holiday on 14 April 2021 to mark the 130th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar.

• Ambedkar Jayanti on 14 April to Be a Public Holiday From This Year.
• The Centre declared Ambedkar Jayanti, a public holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
