Peacekeeping officer "Yuvraj Singh" has been honoured by the UN Secretary.

  • UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres led the annual memorial service honouring the United Nations personnel.
  • An Indian peacekeeper, who lost his life in the line of duty in 2020, was honoured at a solemn memorial service.
  • The UN honoured 336 personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty 2020.



Retired Justice 'Gita Mittal' to be awarded "Arline Pacht Global Vision Award" by 'International Association of Women Judges'.

  • Justice Mittal would be the first Indian judge to receive the award.
  • The award is presented to recognize her contributions to the IAWJ and IAWJ's goals which encompass promoting and protecting the human rights.
  • Mittal had earlier received Nari Shakti Puruskar Award, the highest civilian honour for women in India, in 2018.

  • Villagers complained that Muslim name hampered matrimonial prospects.
  • Name was changed after getting nod from Union home ministry.
  • Village is located in Barmer district of Rajasthan.



Oldest human burial in Africa has been discovered in a cave in "Kenya".

  • The grave dates to roughly 78,000 years old, making it the oldest human burial discovered in Africa to date
  • An artist's impression of the burial of the child, who may have been wrapped in a shroud with their head on a pillow.
  • The researchers decided to dig around the circular pit, roughly 40cm wide and 13cm deep, and encase the whole grave in plaster so it could safely be lifted from the ground.
  • Two small teeth found in the grave matched those of Homo sapiens and put the age of the child at two and a half to three years old.
