Center signs $32 million loan with "World Bank" to improve health services in "Mizoram".

  • A key focus will be to strengthen the effectiveness of the state health insurance programme;
  • Build synergies with the Government of India’s Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY).
  • The project will benefit the people across all eight districts of the state.
  • The project will also focus on promoting synergy between various schemes
  • And augment the capacity of the state insurance agency.
  • The project will invest in infection prevention and control for a more resilient response to future outbreaks, pandemics, and health emergencies.

SBI launches "Aarogyam healthcare business loan" to bolster India’s health infrastructure.

  • To provide enhanced support to the healthcare sector amid the pandemic,
  • Under this scheme, the entire healthcare ecosystem can avail of loans up to Rs 100 crore (as per the geographic location) repayable in 10 years.
  • In metro centres loans under Aarogyam can be availed up to Rs 100 crore,
  • Tier I & Urban centres up to Rs 20 crore and in Tier II to Tier VI centres up to Rs 10 crore,

"West Bengal" state government approved the student credit card scheme in the state.

  • Students aged up to 40 can apply for the scheme.
  • Under this scheme, a student will be able to borrow a soft loan of Rs 10 lakh to pursue higher studies.
  • Anyone who has spent 10 years in West Bengal can avail of the benefits of it.
  • The loan will be available for undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral study in India or abroad.
  • A student will be given fifteen years to repay the loan after getting a job.
