Cabinet approves MoU between India and Myanmar in the field of health research.

  • The objective of this MoU is to build on the health research relationship in the topics of mutual research.
  • The main objectives are:
    • Elimination of infectious diseases (to be decided mutually).
    • Development of network platform of emerging and viral infections.
    • Training /capacity building in research methodology management, clinical trials, ethics etc.



Ukraine and United States launched joint Naval exercise sea breeze drills in the Black Sea.

  • Naval exercises in the Black Sea in a show of Western cooperation with Kiev as it faces off with Russia.
  • The Sea Breeze drills — which have taken place 21 times since 1997
  • will involve some 5,000 military personnel from more than 30 countries.
  • The exercises will last two weeks and involve around 30 ships, including the missile destroyer USS Ross.



The United States has passed a bill to remove confederate statues of those who supported slavery.

  • The measure overwhelmingly passed in a 285-120 vote.
  • The legislation requires states to remove and replace any statues or busts that honor those who voluntarily served in the Confederacy from public display in the Capitol.
  • It also incorporates Congresswoman Barbara Lee’s Confederate Monument Removal Act,
  • Which orders the removal of statues that symbolize "slavery, sedition, and segregation".
