  • A total of 34 immigrants from more than 30 countries were honored by the Carnegie Corporation of New York ahead of America's Independence Day.
  • Gopinath and Lulla are among the 2021 Great Immigrants honourees named by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, a non-profit organisation.
  • The Carnegie Corporation of New York Foundation is dedicated to democracy, education, and international peace.



"WAKO India Kickboxing" Federation gets Government recognition as "National Sports Federation".

  • Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) recognized Waco India Kickboxing Federation as National Sports Federation (NSF)
  • For promotion and development of kickboxing sport in India.
  • WAKO India Kickboxing Federation is affiliated to the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO),
  • Which is the International Federation for the sport of Kickboxing.
  • WAKO has been a provisionally recognised member of the IOC since November 30 2018.
  • The full recognition of WAKO will be finally decided by the IOC Session in Tokyo in July 2021.



Indian Navy athlete "MP Jabir" qualifies for Tokyo Olympics in 400m hurdles.

  • The 25-year-old Naval sailor hails from Malappuram, Kerala.
  • He is currently ranked 34th in the World Athletics' Road to Olympics rankings where 40 athletes qualify.
  • Jabir qualified through the World ranking quota where there are 14 spots available.
  • MP Jabir will be the 1st Indian male athlete to participate in the 400m hurdles in Olympics.



CRPF signs MoU with C-DAC to train manpower of force in advanced technologies.

  • The MoU aims to enhance the technical capabilities of CRPF in advanced areas
  • Such as Internet of Things (IoT), cyber security, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and big data analytics.
  • The MoU will also provide the expertise of C-DAC as a technology partner
  • And knowledge partner in developing various ICT solutions of CRPF.



India's 2nd largest cricket stadium to be constructed in Jaipur.

  • The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given a financial grant of Rs 100 crores
  • To the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) to build India's 2nd-largest stadium in Jaipur.
  • The construction work of the first phase of the stadium is expected to take 24 to 30 months.
  • An amount of about Rs 290 crore has been estimated for the construction work.
  • The proposed stadium will have a 75,000 spectator capacity.
  • There will be 40,000 spectator capacity in the 1st phase and the ground will have 44 international level cricket pitches.
