Bhutan has become the 1st country to adopt India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) standards for its Quick Response (QR) codes.

• Bhutan has become the 2nd country after Singapore to accept BHIM-UPI at merchant locations..
• Bhutan will become the only country to issue and accept RuPay cards and to accept BHIM-UPI.
• NPCI is an umbrella organization involved in the operation of retail payment and settlement systems in India.
• It was launched by Reserve Bank of India and Indian Banks' Association to build a robust payment and settlement infrastructure.

Indian-American "Samir Banerjee" won the 2021 Junior Wimbledon title.

Assam chief minister moves cattle safety bill to control slaughter, trade.

• Assam Cattle Protection Bill-2021 in the state assembly to regulate slaughter, consumption and transportation.
• Violating the provisions of the new law can be punished with imprisonment of up to eight years and a fine of up to Rs 5 lakh.

IFSCA issues framework for setting up of International Trade Finance Services Platform.

• The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) had been established through IFSCA Act, 2019,
• To develop and regulate financial products, financial services and financial institutions in the IFSCs
• The framework released by IFSCA will enable exporters and importers to avail a variety of trade finance facilities on competitive terms.
• This will help traders to convert trade receivables into liquid funds and get short term funding.

The Indian Navy has received the 10th anti-submarine warfare aircraft P-8I from US-based aerospace company Boeing.

• The Defense Ministry first signed a contract for eight P-8I aircraft in 2009.
• Later, in 2016, it signed a contract for four additional P-8I aircraft.
• Boeing's integrated logistics support has enabled a high level of fleet readiness at the lowest possible cost.
• The aircraft is also capable of supporting disaster relief and humanitarian missions.
