IIT-Kanpur launches Innovation Hub to find solutions for anti-drone technologies.

• Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) has launched a technology innovation center named C3i Hub
• To find cyber security solutions for anti-drone technologies, intrusion detection systems, blockchain and cyber physical systems
• IIT Kanpur's C3iHub is committed to creating a vibrant ecosystem of cyber security start-ups promoting world class innovations.
• About 13 start-ups and 25 research and development principal investigators were selected after a rigorous application process to set up a start-up group in cyber security.

India and UK organized a mega wargame in the Bay of Bengal.

• The Indian Navy and the UK’s largest warship HMS Queen Elizabeth and its strike task group carried out a mega wargame featuring a range of complex drills in the Bay of Bengal,
• Signalling a resolve to deepen military cooperation in critical sea lanes.
• The UK aircraft carrier was deployed in the Indian Ocean region as part of its 40-nation tour,
• Intended to demonstrate the country's commitment to an open and inclusive Indo-Pacific.

Center approves Rs 750 crore for the 1st Central University of Ladakh.

• The first phase of the university will be completed in four years.
• A Bill will be introduced to amend the Central Universities Act, 2009 to facilitate the formation of a Central University in Ladakh.
• The establishment of this university will help in the spread of higher education in the region.
• The jurisdiction of this central university will cover the entire region of Ladakh including Kargil and Leh.

RBI is planning to launch a central bank digital currency in the near future.

• RBI is currently working towards a phased implementation strategy and examining use cases that can be implemented with little or no disruption
• There is a possibility of pilots operating in the wholesale and retail sectors in the near future.
• High Level Inter-Ministerial Committee constituted by Ministry of Finance in November 2017 to examine the policy and
• legal framework for regulation of virtual currencies had recommended the introduction of CBDC.

Indian football players Bala Devi and Manisha Kalyan won AIFF awards.

• India women's forward Bala Devi has been named as the AIFF Women's Footballer of the Year 2020-21
• With young gunman Manisha Kalyan winning the AIFF Women's Emerging Footballer of the Year 2020-21 award.
• This is the 3rd time that Bala Devi has been named AIFF Women's Footballer of the Year.
• He won the title for two consecutive years in 2014 and 2015.
• Bala has become the 1st Indian female footballer to sign a professional contract in Europe.
