5th India-Kazakhstan Joint Training Exercise "KAZIND-21".

• The joint training exercise KAZIND-21 between India and Kazakhstan will begin on August 30 at the Kazakh Training Node.
• This joint training exercise will be conducted as a part of military diplomacy.
• It seeks to strengthen the growing strategic ties with Kazakhstan.
• The training exercise will be conducted at Aisha Bibi, Kazakhstan.
• The joint training exercise will help boost bilateral ties between India and Kazakhstan.

Assam has announced on Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme.

• The Government of Assam signed an MoU with 37 Microfinance Institutions (MFIs).
• The scheme—Assam Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme (AMFIRS), 2021—promises to provide financial relief to borrowers in Assam, which is badly hit by Covid-19.
• The scheme covers the Government of Assam, six large banks, about 25 non-banking finance company micro-lenders (NBFC-MFIs), NBFCs and some small finance banks.
• The scheme will provide incentives to customers who make regular repayments and help overdue customers to become regular.

India emerged 2nd in the Global Manufacturing Risk Index 2021.

• The report was released by real estate consultants Cushman & Wakefield.
• India ranks 2nd after China as the most sought-after manufacturing destination globally.
• The rankings in the report are determined based on four key parameters, including the country’s capability to restart manufacturing, business environment (availability of talent/labour, access to markets), operating costs, and the risks (political, economic and environmental).
• The baseline rankings for top manufacturing sites are determined based on the country's operating conditions and cost effectiveness.

Assam has recently celebrated Wanchuwa festival 2021.

• Wanchua Festival is celebrated in Assam by the Tiwa tribals to mark their good harvest.
• Tiwa also known as Lalung is an indigenous community living in the states of Assam and Meghalaya and also found in parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
• They are recognized as a Scheduled Tribe within the state of Assam.
• They do jhum or jhum cultivation.
• Wanchua is one of the most important festivals of this tribe.

Australia's Paige Greco won her 1st cycling gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

• She was born with cerebral palsy, which mostly affects the right side of her body.
• Greco defeated Wang Xiaomi of China to win the gold medal in track cycling's C1-C3 class 3,000m individual pursuit in record-breaking fashion.
