Sri Basava International Award for the seer of Bhalki Hiremath.

  • Karnataka government has selected Sri Basavaliga Pattaddevaru, senior seer of Bhalki Hiremath, for the prestigious Sri Basava International Award.
  • Kannada and Culture Minister V. Sunil Kumar will present the award at Rabindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru.
  • The septuagenarian seer has spent more than five decades at a Lingayat religious institution in Bidar district.
  • The centre was set up in 2003 when an abandoned baby from Ujani village near Aurad in Bidar district was adopted.
  • The seer moved the court to adopt the child.
  • The Central and State governments later recognised the centre as an authorised Central adoption resource agency.



Life Insurance Corporation of India has launched a mobile app named ANANDA.

  • LIC launched a mobile app called Ananda Mobile App for its agents and intermediaries to connect potential customers.
  • ANANDA stands for Atma Nirbhar Agents New Business Digital Application. ANANDA is the paperless solution for new business processes.
  • This digital application will help in the process of obtaining an insurance policy through a paperless module with the help of an agent or an intermediary.
  • The app includes all the exclusive features of a digital app.
  • The app can be developed as a result of high-level use of the Anand module.
  • It was built on paperless KYC process using Aadhaar based e-authentication.
  • It provides easy access to the field force to reach out to the potential customers through latest technology.



Uttar Pradesh Govt adopted Indian wrestling until the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

  • To promote Indian wrestling in a big way, the Uttar Pradesh govt has taken up the sport
  • And is expected to invest Rs 170 crore in infrastructure and support to wrestlers by the 2032 Olympics.
  • Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brijbhushan Sharan Singh said that he took inspiration from the Odisha government's support for the sport of hockey and approached the UP government for similar support for his sport.
  • The WFI president said the deal with the UP government would allow them to plan exposure trips abroad for cadet level wrestlers from India as well.



RBI has included the beneficiaries of PM Svanidhi Yojana under PIDF scheme.

  • The objective of the scheme was to encourage the deployment of Point of Sale (PoS) infrastructure (both physical and digital modes) in Tier-3 to Tier-6 centers and North Eastern states.
  • RBI has now decided to include street vendors identified as part of PM Street Vendor's Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM Swanidhi Yojana) in Tier-I and Tier-II centers as beneficiaries under the PIDF scheme.
