RBI has increased the limit under the Indo-Nepal remittance facility to Rs 2 lakh.

  • RBI has increased the money transfer limit under the India-Nepal Remittance Facility Scheme from Rs 50,000 per transaction to Rs 2 lakh per transaction.
  • Earlier there was a maximum limit of 12 transactions in a year. Now this limit has also been removed.
  • However, for cash-based transfers under the Indo-Nepal remittance facility, the per transaction limit of Rs 50,000 will still exist with a maximum of 12 transfers in a year.
  • Ind0-Nepal Remittance Facility is a fund transfer mechanism from India to Nepal (not otherwise) which operates on NEFT.
  • It was started by RBI in the year 2008. It is managed by SBI in India and Nepal SBI Bank Limited (NSBL) in Nepal.



Bank employees family pension will be increased to 30% of the last drawn pay.

  • The immediate benefit of this approval would be an increase in the family pension of public sector bank employees from Rs 30,000 to 35,000 per month subject to a maximum of Rs 9,284 per month based on the last drawn pay of the deceased bank employee.
  • The government has also approved the proposal to increase the contribution of employers under NPS to 14% from the existing 10%.
  • About 60% of public sector bank employees are covered under NPS.



Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) - National Mission for Financial Inclusion, completes 7 years of successful implementation.

  • PMJDY accounts have grown three-fold from 14.72 crore in March 2015 to 43.04 crore as on August 18, 2021.
  • 55% Jan-Dhan account holders are women and 67% Jan Dhan accounts are in rural and semi-urban areas.
  • 5 crore PMJDY accountholders receive direct benefit transfer (DBT) from the Government under various scheme.
  • Total deposit balances under PMJDY Accounts stand at Rs 1,46,230 crore.
  • PMJDY was announced by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi in his Independence Day address on 15th August 2014.



The BRICS Agricultural Research Platform (BRICS- ARP) has been housed at New Delhi.

  • The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Narendra Singh has announced the operationalization of the BRICS Agricultural Research Forum (BRICS-ARP) to strengthen the cooperation of BRICS member countries in the field of agricultural research and innovations.
  • BRICS- Agricultural Research Platform designed and established in India.
  • The Coordinating Center for BRICS Agricultural Research Forum is located at NASC Campus, Pusa, New Delhi.



The Govt has introduced Bharat Series (BH-Series) facility for free movement of individual vehicles across the States/UTs of India on shifting to a new State/UT.

  • The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has introduced a new registration mark i.e. Bharat Series (BH-Series) for new vehicles.
  • Vehicles bearing the BH-series mark will not require the assignment of a new registration mark when the owner of the vehicle is transferred from one state to another.
  • Format of Bharat Series (BH-Series) Registration Mark - YY BH #### XX (10 alphanumeric)
