Tajamul Islam of India wins the gold medal in the World Kickboxing Championship.

  • 13-year-old Tajamul Islam is the 1st Kashmiri girl to represent India.
  • She has won a gold medal in the under-14 age group at the World Kickboxing Championships held in Cairo, Egypt.
  • Islam defeated Lalina of Argentina in the final.
  • He was born in Tarakpora, a remote village in the Bandipora district of North Kashmir.
  • Tajamul is also the brand ambassador of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme.



Manika Batra and Archana Kamath won the WTT Contenders Table Tennis Tournament.

  • In table tennis, Indian pair Manika Batra and Archana Girish Kamath won the women's doubles title at the WTT Contenders tournament in Lasko, Slovenia.
  • The Indian pair defeated the Puerto Rican team of Melanie Diaz and Adriana Diaz 11-3, 11-8, 12-10 to clinch the title.
  • Meanwhile, China's Wang Yidi beat her 2-4 (11-7, 7-11, 13-11, 10-12, 11-7, 11-5) to win the bronze medal in the women's singles title.



3rd Goa Maritime Conclave 2021 begins.

  • The 3rd edition of Goa Maritime Conclave (GMC) 2021 has been organized by the Indian Navy from 07 to 09 November 2021 at Naval War College, Goa.
  • Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of the Navy will preside over the conference.
  • The theme of the 2021 GMC is Maritime Security and Emerging Non-Traditional Threats: A Case for an Active Role for IOR Navies.



A new book titled "An Economist at Home and Abroad: A Personal Journey" by Shankar Acharya.

  • Eminent economist and former Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India, Dr. Shankar Acharya has authored a new book titled An Economist at Home and Abroad: A Personal Journey.
  • The book depicts the professional and personal life of the most accomplished policy economist, Dr. Shankar Acharya.
