- It will be one of the largest airports in Asia.
- Jewar Airport is the second international airport in the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR).
- It is the 5th international airport of Uttar Pradesh.
- Uttar Pradesh has now become the state with the largest number of international airports in India.
- Spread over 1,330 acres of land, the airport will be developed by Zurich Airport International AG.
- The airport is expected to be operational by September 2024.
- Once operational, this airport will be the largest airport in India and the first net-zero emission airport in the country.
The cabinet approves the extension of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) till March 2022.
- The Union Cabinet has approved the extension of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY-Phase V) for a period of 4 months i.e. from December 2021 to March 2022.
- Under this scheme, all the beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) get food grains at the rate of 5 kg per person per month.
- The estimated additional food subsidy for Phase V of the scheme is Rs 53344.52 crore.
- The total food grains expenditure for PMGKAY Phase V will be around 163 LMT.
The 15th biennial trilateral Coast Guard exercise "Dosti" between India, Maldives and Sri Lanka concluded.
- The 15th edition of the biennial trilateral Coast Guard exercise Dosti has concluded on 24 November 2021.
- The exercise was conducted between Maldives, India and Sri Lanka from 20 to 24 November in Maldives.
- The Indian Coast Guard was represented by ICGS Vajra and ICGS Apoorva.
- The aim of this exercise is to further strengthen friendship, enhance mutual operational capability and build cooperation between the Coast Guards of the three countries.
- Exercise Dosti was initiated in 1991 between the Indian and Maldivian Coast Guards. Sri Lanka first participated in this exercise in 2012.
