Indira Gandhi International Airport has been adjudged "Best Airport in India".

  • Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) has been adjudged the best airport in India and Central Asia.
  • Delhi airport is included in the list of World Two 100 Airports published by Skytrax along with other airports in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Bangalore.
  • An investment of Rs 36,000 crore is being planned to develop new greenfield airports across the country under the Public-Private Partnership mode.



World Cooperative Monitoring Report 2021: IFFCO ranked first.

  • The Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) has been ranked number one cooperative among the top 300 cooperatives in the world.
  • The ranking is based on the ratio of turnover to gross domestic product (GDP) per capita.
  • This shows that IFFCO is contributing significantly to the GDP and economic development of the country.
  • 2021 edition of the 10th annual World Cooperative Monitor (WCM) report, withholding its position from the 2020 edition.
  • The 2021 WCM report is published by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and European Research Institute on Cooperative and Social Enterprises (Euricse).
  • WCM is a project designed to collect robust economic, organizational, and social data about cooperatives worldwide.



Ratan Tata to get Assam’s highest civilian award.

  • On the occasion of Assam Day, the state government of Assam has decided to honor renowned industrialist Ratan Tata with the highest civilian state award, the Assam Bhairav award, for his contribution to cancer care in the state.
  • Its earlier awards are Asom Saurav, followed by Asom Gaurav.
  • With healthcare as one of its top priorities, the Government of Assam is appreciating Tata's efforts for cancer care in the region.



Govt to launch SRESHTA scheme for development of SC students.

  • The Center is all set to launch Residential Education for Students (SRESHTA) scheme in high schools in targeted areas for the upliftment and development of Scheduled Caste (SC) students.
  • Central govt. will celebrate Mahaparinirvan Divas in remembrance of Dr. B R Ambedkar on 6th Dec 2021 as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
  • On this occasion, Shrestha Yojana will also be launched for the socio-economic development of meritorious students of Scheduled Castes.
  • It will enable bright SC students for a better future by getting high quality education.
  • It will also help in controlling the drop out rate of SC students from class 9th to 12th.



ADB approves $500 million loan to improve the quality of school education.

  • The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $500 million loan to the Indian government to help improve the quality of school education in the country and mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students' education.
  • The loan supports the Integrated Scheme for School Education (Samagra Shiksha) and the Ministry of Education's (MoE) new Exemplary School Initiative to improve the quality of education by focusing on inclusive and equitable learning outcomes.
