India's maiden space mission "Gaganyaan" will be launched in 2023.
- India's first space mission, Gaganyaan will be launched in 2023, making the country the fourth country in the world after the US, Russia, China to launch a manned spaceflight mission.
- Test vehicle flight to verify the performance of the crew escape system and Gaganyaan's first uncrewed mission is scheduled for early second half of 2022.
- It will be followed by 2nd uncrewed mission at the end of 2022 carrying Vyommitra spacefaring human-robot developed by ISRO.
Haiderpur wetland in Uttar Pradesh recognised as Ramsar Site.
- The Haiderpur Wetland adjoining the Madhya Ganga Barrage, about 10 km from Bijnor in western Uttar Pradesh, has been recognized under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of 1971.
- Uttar Pradesh is now home to 9 Ramsar wetlands.
- Wetlands have also been identified under the Namami Gange, which has a central head, as a model wetland along the Ganges.
- With this, there are now a total of 47 such designated areas in the country.
- The site supports more than 25,000 waterfowl, serves as a breeding ground for near-endangered Indian grass birds and shelters populations of the northern subspecies of vulnerable swamp deer during their seasonal flood-driven migrations.
- The site regularly supports over 1% of the population of Grayleg Goose and Bar-headed Goose.
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami launched "Milk Price Incentive Scheme".
- Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched Milk Price Promotion Scheme in Dehradun.
- The objective of this scheme is to provide incentives to benefit about 53,000 people of Uttarakhand.
- The state government has set a target of spending Rs 444.62 crore to open 500 milk sales centers in Uttarakhand.
- It is a Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) scheme, under this scheme the amount will go directly into the accounts of the beneficiaries through their linked bank accounts.
- The government has been making various attempts for enhancing milk production in the state, some of which include:
- Ganga cow scheme: Ganga cow scheme and incentive amount of Rs 3-4 per liter of milk were also announced by the government to boost milk production and meet the consumption on time.
- Kamdhenu Scheme: The scheme was started in Uttarakhand on the lines of UP. Although there was a provision in Uttarakhand for a 25% subsidy for general farmers and a 33% subsidy for SC-ST on loans up to Rs.6 lakh for dairy under NABARD, farmers did not take advantage of it owing to a lack of knowledge.
Bank of Maharashtra ties up with NPCI to launch RuPay credit card.
- Bank of Maharashtra (BOM) has tied up with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to launch its first RuPay credit card BoM Platinum RuPay Contactless Credit Card.
- It offers users 100 reward points as welcome benefits on their first retail spend of ₹1,000 or more and a complimentary annual subscription fee for the first year.
- It also offers fuel surcharge waiver of up to ₹200 on fuel transactions between ₹500 and ₹4,000.
India won 41 medals in Asian Youth Para Games 2021.
- India claimed 41 medals (12 gold, 15 silver, 14 bronze) at the 4th Asian Youth Para Games (AYPG), the biggest event in Asia held in Rifa city, Bahrain.
- The event is organized by the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Bahrain in collaboration with the local government.
- More than 700 athletes from around 30 countries participated in the event from 2 to 6 December 2021.
- The 5th edition of Asian Youth Para Games 2025 will be hosted by Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
