Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launches NEAT 3.0.
- The Union Education Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, on January 03, 2022, launched the National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT 3.0), and the regional language textbooks prescribed by AICTE.
- Pradhan said that NEAT will prove to be a game-changer in bridging the digital divide, especially among the economically disadvantaged students and in meeting the knowledge-based need of India and the world.
- The minister informed that 58 global and Indian start-up ed-tech companies are on NEAT and are offering 100 courses and e-resources to improve learning outcomes, develop employable skills and overcome learning loss.

- IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has launched India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) to attract large investments for setting up semiconductor wafer fabrication facilities in India.
- The Center invites interested companies for the development of Semiconductors and Display Manufacturing Ecosystem in India.
- ISM is an exclusive and independent business division within Digital India Corporation.
- The financial support of up to 50 per cent of the project cost (ceiling of Rs 12,000 crore per fab) will be provided for the scheme for setting up display fabs.
- Fiscal support will be provided on pari-passu basis for a period of six years from the date of approval both for semiconductor fabs and display fabs.
Indian-origin Ashok Eluswamy was the 1st employee to be hired for Tesla.
- Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk, who has been using social media to recruit people, has disclosed that Indian-origin Ashok Elluswamy was the 1st employee to be hired for his electric vehicle company’s Autopilot team.
- Before joining Tesla, Mr Elluswamy was associated with Volkswagen Electronic Research Lab and WABCO Vehicle Control System.
- Ashok Eluswamy holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy, Chennai and a Master's degree in Robotics System Development from Carnegie Mellon University.
