1st Khelo India National Ranking Women Archery Tournament held in Jamshedpur.
- The 1st phase of the Khelo India National Ranking Women Archery Tournament was held on April 12 and 13, 2022 at TATA Archery Academy, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
- The tournament was organised jointly by the Archery Association of India (AAI), in collaboration with the Jharkhand Archery Association and TATA Steel.
- It must be noted that the Sports Authority of India (SAI) has approved to host the Khelo India National Ranking Women Archery Tournament over six phases, at an estimated budget of Rs 75 Lakh.
- The six tournaments will be held every alternate month and the final phase will take place in December 2022.
Ecuador becomes world’s 1st country to give legal rights to wild animals.
- The South American country, Ecuador has become the first country to recognise the legal rights of individual wild animals.
- The apex court of Ecuador has stated that wild animals have the right "not to be hunted, fished, captured, collected, extracted, kept, retained, trafficked, marketed or exchanged" and the right to the "free development of their animal behaviour, which includes the guarantee of not being domesticated and not forced to assimilate human characteristics or appearances".
- It is worth noting that owning wild animals in Ecuador is illegal.
PM Modi honoured with inaugural Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award.
- PM Shri Narendra Modi has been named for the inaugural Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award, instituted in the honour and memory of Legendary singer Late Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away in February 2022 following multiple organ failure.
- PM Modi has been chosen for the inaugural award for his selfless service to the nation and society.
- PM will receive the award on April 24, 2022 at the Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Awards ceremony, which marks the 80th death anniversary of Master Deenanath Mangeshkar, father of Lata Ji.
- From this year, the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Puraskar will be given every year to only one individual who has made path-breaking, spectacular and exemplary contributions to the nation, its people and society.
Nykaa founder Falguni Nayar wins EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2021.
- Falguni Nayar has been named as the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2021, at the 23rd edition of the EY Entrepreneur of The Year India awards.
- Founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of beauty supply company Nykaa (FSN E-commerce).
- Nayar will now represent India at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Award (WEOY) on June 9, 2022 at Monaco.
- The Lifetime Achievement was given to A. M. Naik, Group Chairman of Larsen & Toubro.
- Winners were also announced over nine other Categories for the Entrepreneur Of The Year Program.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah appointed as Member Board Representative of ICC Cricket Committee.
- BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has been appointed to the ICC Cricket Committee as the Member Board Representative.
- Meanwhile, former Sri Lankan cricketer Mahela Jayawardene has been reappointed as Past Player representative.
- The two appointment were announced during the ICC Board Meeting held in Dubai on April 10, 2022.
