- Carolina Marin clinched her sixth European Championship after defeating Scotland's Kirsty Gilmour 21-10, 21-12 in Madrid.
- The 2016 Olympic Champion was making her first appearance since sustaining a left knee injury that kept her on the sidelines for 11 months.
- She was unable to defend her title at the 2020 Tokyo Games because of an injury, which involved a torn ACL (Anterior cruciate ligament) of both menisci in her left knee.
- The last winner in the women's singles category was Tine Baun, who retired almost a decade ago.
Brazil Gets "Largest Christ Statue in the World", Taller Than Rio De Janeiro's Christ The Redeemer.
- A new statue of Jesus Christ, bigger than Rio de Janeiro's famous Christ the Redeemer, has been completed in Brazil.
- The new statue is 43 metres (141 feet) high compared to Rio's statue, which is 38 metres (125 feet).
- It is the largest Christ statue in the world.
- The new statue was sculpted by artist Markus Moura from Brazil's Ceara State.
- Work on the statue began in 2019 and has been funded by local businesses in the region.
Chhattisgarh government opened "C-Mart" store in Raipur to promote local products and also to create awareness about local products.
- With the aim to promote local products and rural entrepreneurship, the Chhattisgarh government has opened the C-Mart store in Raipur.
- C-Mart has been established to provide a marketplace for the local products of Chhattisgarh made by women of self-help groups.
- The store not only provides a platform for selling the products made by the women of self-help groups but also makes people aware of the local products of Chhattisgarh.
- Its outlets will be opened on district levels and a state-level megastore in the coming months.
Suman Beri takes over as Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog replacing Rajiv Kumar.
- Eminent economist Suman Bery took charge as the Vice-Chairman of the government think tank Niti Aayog.
- Bery has previously served as director-general (chief executive) of the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) and the global chief economist of Royal Dutch Shell.
- He was also a member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council, Statistical Commission and the Reserve Bank of India's Technical Advisory Committee on Monetary Policy.
- An experienced policy economist and research administrator, Bery has replaced Rajiv Kumar as the vice chairman of the government think tank.
- Rajiv kumar took over as vice chairman of Niti Aayog in August 2017.
Indian-origin Nand Moolchandani became the 1st Chief Technology Officer of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
- Indian-American Nand Mulchandani, a Silicon Valley IT veteran who completed his schooling in Delhi, has been named the first-ever Chief Technology Officer of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
- Nand Moolchandani has been appointed by the Director of the CIA, William J. Burns.
- Mulchandani has over 25 years of experience working in Silicon Valley.
- Mulchandani was most recently the CTO and Acting Director of the Department of Defense's Joint Artificial Intelligence Center before joining the CIA.
