Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurates Health Summit in Gujarat.

  • Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has inaugurated a three-day Swasthya Chintan Shivir (Health Summit) at Kevadiya in Gujarat.
  • Aim: Detailed discussion on various topics and policies related to the health sector and recommend ways and means for better implementation of these policies/programmes.
  • This summit is being organized as a part of the 14th Convention of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare (CCHFW).



Haryana launched "Vehicle Movement Tracking System" mobile app.

  • Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has launched a Vehicle Movement Tracking System (VMTS) mobile app to track the vehicles carrying sand and other mining material.
  • The app will be used at different checkpoints in all the districts of Haryana.
  • All vehicle details including vehicle type, vehicle number, moving from, moving to, and driver details will be stored in it.
  • The non-registered individual will not be permitted to enter the zone of sand mining.
  • This App has been designed and developed in-house by National Informatics Centre, Haryana.



Priyanka Mohite Becomes 1st Indian Woman to Scale Five Peaks above 8,000m.

  • Priyanka Mohite from Satara in western Maharashtra has become the first Indian woman to scale five peaks above 8,000 metres after she climbed Mount Kanchenjunga.
  • Priyanka Mohite (30), the recipient of Tenzing Norgay Adventure Award 2020, successfully completed her expedition to Mount Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), the third highest mountain on the planet.
  • In April 2021, she had scaled Mt Annapurna (8,091 m), the 10th highest mountain peak in the world and had become the first Indian woman climber to achieve the feat.
  • Priyanka Mohite has also climbed the world's highest peak Mount Everest (8,849 m) in 2013, Mount Lhotse (8,516 m) in 2018, Mount Makalu (8,485 m) and Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) in 2016.



J&K Delimitation Commission issues final notification, reserves 43 Assembly seats for Jammu, 47 for Kashmir.

  • The Delimitation Commission on Jammu and Kashmir, headed by Justice (retd) Ranjana Desai submitted its final report.
  • The three-member Delimitation Commission has recommended increasing the number of Assembly seats in the Kashmir region to 47 from the previous 46.
  • While in the Jammu region the number of seats has been increased to 43 from the earlier 37.
  • With this, Jammu and Kashmir will now have 90 Assembly constituencies.



Air Marshal Sanjeev Kapoor appointed as Director General of Inspection and Security Department of Indian Air Force.

  • Air Marshal Sanjeev Kapoor assumed the appointment of Director General (Inspection and Safety) [DG (I&S)] of Indian Air Force at Air HQ New Delhi.
  • The Air Marshal is a graduate of National Defence Academy and was commissioned in the Flying branch of IAF in December 1985 as a Transport Pilot.
  • He has commanded an operational transport squadron and a premier transport base.
  • He was Commandant of National Defence Academy, Pune prior to assuming the present appointment.
  • The Air Officer is a recipient of Vayu Sena Medal and Ati Vishist Seva Medal.
