NASA Climate Research Scientist Cynthia Rosenzweig Wins World Food Prize 2022.

• NASA's climate research scientist Cynthia Rosenzweig has been awarded the World Food Prize 2022.
• Cynthia Rosenzweig has been awarded this honor for her pioneering work on the impact of climate change on food production around the world.
• The World Food Prize is awarded to individuals who have done human development work by improving the quality, quantity or availability of food.

Four Indians including Indian journalist Danish Siddiqui got Pulitzer Prize 2022.

• Journalist Danish Siddiqui, who lost his life while covering the conflict situation in Afghanistan, has been awarded the Pulitzer Prize for feature photography for his coverage of the Covid situation in India.
• This is for the second time that Siddiqui has won the Pulitzer Prize.
• He was honoured with the prestigious award in 2018 as part of the Reuters team for their coverage of the Rohingya crisis.
• He had extensively covered the Afghanistan conflict, the Hong Kong protests, and other major events in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
• The Pulitzer Prize is an award for achievements in newspaper, magazine, online journalism, literature, and musical composition within the United States.

Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh won the title of "Sunway Formentera Open Chess Tournament 2022".

• Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh has won the first Chesable Sunway Formentera Open 2022 Chess Tournament title.
• He has previously won the La Roda tournament and the Menorca Open.
• The 15-year-old Gukesh won the title with a margin of eight points with Armenian GM Haik M Martirosyan in the final round.
• He had defeated compatriot and second-seed K Sasikiran in the ninth and penultimate round.

Kerala Government announced the launch of an app called "Shaili".

• The Kerala government is ready to launch an Android app Shaili, aimed at diagnosing and controlling lifestyle diseases among people in the southern State.
• This app will mainly collect information about other diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, lung diseases as well as cancer related to lifestyle.
• With the help of this app, the causes of lifestyle diseases as well as diseases will be collected.

Poumai Naga region in Manipur declared as "drug free zone".

• Poumai dominated area in Manipur has been declared as a drug free zone.
• Poumai tribe, one of the major Naga tribes living in Manipur's hill district, Senapati have recently declared their villages a no-drugs zone in order to help the state government curb the drugs menace including illegal poppy cultivation.
• The Chief Minister welcomed the resolution of the Poumai Naga tribe and affirmed that the State government will not tolerate deforestation and poppy plantation in hill districts in Manipur.
