India elected as Chair of Association of Asian Election Authorities for 2022-24.

India has been unanimously elected as the new Chair of the Association of Asian Election Authorities (AAEA) for 2022-2024.
Commission on Elections, Manila was the current chair of AAEA.
The new member of the Executive Board now includes Russia, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Taiwan and the Philippines.

South Korea has become the first Asian country to join North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)’s Cooperative Cyber Defense Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE).
The move will likely to mount tensions with Moscow.
Locked Shields is the world's largest and most complex international real-time cyber defence exercise, organised by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) in Tallinn, Estonia.
With Korea’s membership, NATO CCDCOE now has 32 countries as its official members of which 27 NATO member countries, are categorised as sponsoring nations, and five contributing participants which are non-NATO countries.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has launched the Prabha Khaitan Foundation’s (PKF) Kalam website, a one-of-a-kind literary initiative to support and encourage vernacular literature.
The goal of Kalam is to popularise Hindi literature by giving veteran and young authors and poets a platform to discuss their work and passion for vernacular literature.
Since its inception in the summer of 2015 in the cities of Jaipur and Patna, Kalam has conducted over 550 sessions in over 40 cities across India and abroad.
Kalam embodies our nation’s philosophy of Unity in Diversity, which is reflected in the Prabha Khaitan Foundation’s tagline, Aapne Bhasha Aapne Log.

Maharashtra Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray inaugurated the country’s first organic waste-powered EV charging s btation at Keshavrao Khadye road near Haji Ali in Mumbai.
The station, a first-of-its-kind, will generate 220 units of electricity from food waste collected from its nearby areas, mostly from bulk generators like hotels and offices.
Along with powering street lights, this energy plant will now charge electric vehicles too.
The project is a joint venture between the civic body and AeroCare Clean Energy.

Acclaimed architect Balkrishna Doshi has been conferred with the prestigious Royal Gold Medal 2022, one of the world’s highest honours for architecture, by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
Doshi, 94, is the only one from India and to have been awarded both the Royal Gold Medal and the Pritzker Architecture Prize, often referred to as the Nobel Prize of architecture.
He is credited with designing some of the most iconic structures in Ahmedabad.
He worked with Louis Kahn as an associate to build the Indian institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad and they continued to collaborate for over a decade.
