President Ramnath Kovind inaugurates "India-Jamaica Friendship Garden" in Kingston.

• President Ram Nath Kovind has inaugurated an India-Jamaica Friendship Garden at the Hope Gardens, Jamaica and planted a sapling along with the First Lady Savita Kovind.
• Earlier President Kovind inaugurated Dr BR Ambedkar Avenue, a road named after the architect of India's Constitution, Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar in Downtown Kingston.

Scientists at IISc Bengaluru-based startup "Theranautilus" develop helical nanobots that can deeply clean teeth.

• Theranautilus, a startup incubated at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru has developed nano-sized robots capable of killing bacteria deep inside dentinal tubules, and boosting the success of root canal treatments.
• Theranautilus is a startup incubated by the IISc.
• The nanobots are manipulated using a magnetic field and researchers designed helical nanobots made of silicon dioxide coated with iron, which can be controlled using a device that generates a low-intensity magnetic field.
• Earlier, scientists used ultrasound or laser pulses to create shockwaves in the fluid used to flush out bacteria and tissue debris, to improve the efficiency of root canal treatment.

Four-day Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Anti-Terrorism Meeting Begins in New Delhi.

• A four-day meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO’s) Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure or RATS started in the national capital New Delhi amid the presence of a three-member Pakistani delegation among other foreign dignitaries from seven other countries.
• The SCO grouping comprises Russia, China and India. Besides this, Pakistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
• SCO’s RATS, based in Tashkent, is a permanent body of the grouping for countering terrorism, extremism, and separatism in the Eurasian region.
• India is the current chair of the executive council of SCO RATS.

Lionel Messi Tops Forbes "Highest-Paid Athletes List 2022" With $130 Million.

• With a net worth of $130 million, Lionel Messi tops the Forbes Highest-Paid Athletes 2022 list, followed by LeBron James with $121.2 million, and Cristiano Ronaldo with $115 million.
• Almost 58% of Messi's income between May 2021 and May 2022 was categorized as on-field by Forbes, meaning it came from prize money, salaries and bonuses.
• Messi moved from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in August.
• Ronaldo rejoined Manchester United from Juventus in the same month.

Rajasthan's Ramgarh Vishdhari Sanctuary notified as India's 52nd tiger reserve.

• The Ramgarh Vishdhari Sanctuary in Rajasthan has been notified as India's 52nd tiger reserve.
• This is Rajasthan's fourth tiger reserve after Ranthambore, Sariska and Mukundra.
• The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) had given in-principle approval to make Ramgarh Vishdhari Wildlife Sanctuary and adjoining areas a tiger reserve on July 5 last year.
• The floristic diversity of this new tiger reserve makes it an important area for research and education.
• Wild animals like Indian wolf, leopard, striped hyena, sloth bear, golden jackal, chinkara, nilgai and fox can be seen in the Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve.
• According to "Status of Tigers in India" report released in 2019, there are 2,967 tigers in 20 states across the country.
