India-Bangladesh joint military exercise "X Samprati-X" begins at Jashor Military Station in Bangladesh.

  • A joint military training exercise named Ex SAMPRITI-X between India and Bangladesh was started on June 5th at Jessore military station in Bangladesh.
  • The exercise Ex SAMPRITI-X will be held till June 16th as part of bilateral defence cooperation.
  • The exercise Ex SAMPRITI-X aims to strengthen the aspects of interoperability and cooperation between both armies and to understand each other’s tactical drills and operational techniques.
  • During the joint military exercise, the armies of both nations will share expertise in multiple simulated scenarios of counter-terrorism, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, and UN peacekeeping force under the UN mandate.



Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurates National Food Laboratory in Raxaul, Bihar.

  • Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the National Food Laboratory (NFL) in Raxaul of Bihar's East Champaran district.
  • The inauguration took place in the presence of the Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Government of Nepal, Mahendra Rai Yadav.
  • It will support enhanced bilateral trade between India and Nepal by reducing the time taken for testing samples of food and agricultural exports of Nepal which currently need to be sent to Delhi or Kolkata for testing.



"My Pad My Right" program launched by NABARD's NAB Foundation in Leh.

  • National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Chairman Dr GR Chintala has launched My Pad My Right programme, in Leh.
  • The programme launched by Nabard’s NabFoundation with machinery and materials of a cost of seven and half Lakh rupees.
  • Dr GR Chintala announced to sanction one more lakh to upgrade the machinery to make sanitary pads suitable to the demands of women of different age groups.



SBI Foundation partners with Khan Academy for "UpSchool" - A digital learning program for students.

  • SBI Foundation has introduced UpSchool, a digital learning program for students from class 1-10 in partnership with Khan Academy, an educational non-profit.
  • The program will be available in English, Hindi and Kannada languages aiming to reduce learning gaps and build a solid foundation in maths and reading for their current academic year.
  • Students or their parents can register for the program for free by visiting learn.khanacademy.org/upschool and will receive learning links on WhatsApp for 4-6 weeks.
  • Every student will receive a digital certificate at completing the program.



Joe Root created history, became the 1st England batsman to score 17,000 runs in international cricket.

  • England batter Joe Root became the first English player to complete 17,000 runs in International cricket.
  • Root achieved this feat during the Test match against New Zealand.
  • Earlier, Joe Root completed 10,000 runs in Test cricket, becoming the second English player and 14th overall player to reach the landmark.
  • Now having reached this landmark, Root has joined the elite league of players who have scored 10,000 runs or more in the longest format of the game.
