Cyclist Ronaldo Singh becomes 1st Indian to win silver in Asian Championship.

• India’s Ronaldo Singh has created a history by winning Silver in the sprint event at the Asian Cycling Championships 2022.
• He became the 1st Indian cyclist to win a silver medal (including the Elite category) at the Asian Track Championship.
• Prior to this, Ronaldo Singh won two bronze medals at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Delhi.
• The Asian Track Cycling Championships (ATCC) is one part of the Asian Cycling Championship (Road & Track) exclusively for Asian cyclists.
• It is a flagship event of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) and showcases high competition across Asia.

Garuda Aerospace to establish drone factory in Malaysia.

• Chennai-based drone startup Garuda Aerospace Pvt Ltd has announced the establishment of the HiiLSE Global Sdn Bhd (HiiLSE Drones) factory in Malaysia with an investment of Rs 115 crore.
• The drone factory will be set up on 2.42 hectares.
• Recently, Chennai-based drone startup Garuda Aerospace deployed white knight delivery drones in Assam to offer its support for the state disaster management department’s rescue efforts amid the ongoing floods
• In 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a project called Kisan Drone Yatra, by Garuda Aerospace that sent 100 drones to various locations in the country to apply pesticides on farms.

ICICI Bank launches "Campus Power" platform for student ecosystem.

• ICICI Bank launched a digital platform called Campus Power to help students aspiring to pursue higher education in India and abroad.
• Campus Power platform aims to cater to the varied needs of the entire student ecosystem comprising students, parents, and institutes.
• The new Campus Power platform will help in exploring financial products matching users’ needs ranging from bank accounts including overseas accounts, education loans and their tax benefits, foreign exchange solutions, payment solutions, cards, other loans, and investments.
• The Campus Power platform will provide information regarding various value-added services related to higher studies in India and abroad including Canada, the UK, Germany, the USA, and Australia.

SEBI approves SS Mundra’s appointment as BSE Chairman.

• Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has approved the appointment of SS Mundra, Public Interest Director as the Chairman of the board of directors of the BSE Limited.
• S.S. Mundra will replace BSE. Justice Vikramajit Sen.
• Mundra left his position as Reserve Bank of India’s Deputy Governor in July 2017.
• He also served as Chairman and Managing Director at Bank of Baroda, until he retired in July 2014.
• Mundra has served as Executive Director of Union Bank of India, and Chief Executive of Bank of Baroda (European Operations) amongst others.

Ex Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran appointed President of India International Centre.

• Former Foreign Secretary and Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for Nuclear Affairs and Climate Change Shyam Saran has assumed charge as the President of the prestigious India International Centre.
• He also headed the Research and Information System for Developing Countries, a prestigious think tank focusing on economic issues (2011-2017) after retiring from government service in 2010.
• He also served as Chairman of the National Security Advisory Board under the National Security Council (2013-15).
• He is a Member of the Governing Board of the Centre for Policy Research and of the Institute of Chinese Studies.
