540 species added to fauna database of India - Geological Survey of India.
- India has added 540 species to its fauna database in 2021, taking the total number of animal species to 1,03,258.
- India has added 315 species to the Indian flora during 2021, taking the number of flora in the country to 55,048.
- Among the new species discovered was new mammal species discovered,Crocidura narcondamica, a white-toothed shrew, from Narcondam Island in Andaman.
Adani Sportsline becomes official partner of upcoming Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.
- Adani Sportsline, the sports arm of the Adani Group, has become an official partner with the Indian Olympics Association (IOA) for the upcoming Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022, Hangzhou Asian Games 2022, and Paris Olympic Games 2024.
- This is the second time that the Adani Group has partnered with the IOA, prior to it becoming an official participant in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
- Adani Sportsline owns teams with prominent Indian and global platforms, including Pro Kabaddi League, Ultimate Kho Kho League, Big Bout Boxing League, and International League T20 (Cricket).
- It also organises the annual Adani Ahmedabad Marathon, which has now moved up to be among the top four marathons in India.
Nitin Gadkari and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla presented the "National Highway Excellence Award 2021".
- Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla along with Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari gave away National Highways Excellence Awards-2021 to the stakeholders and companies engaged in the highway construction and maintenance of road assets in New Delhi.
- These Excellence Awards were constituted in 2018 with an aim to incentivize stakeholders in the highway construction and maintenance process and to create a spirit of healthy competitiveness amongst them.
- National Highways Excellence Awards-2021 were given away in nine categories, including Excellence in Project Management, Excellence in Highway Safety, Excellence in Toll Management, Excellence in Operation and Maintenance, Innovation, Green Highways, Outstanding Work in Challenging Condition, Bridge Construction and Tunnel Construction.
Sini Sadananda Shetty from Karnataka crowned Femina Miss India World 2022.
- Karnataka’s Sini Sadanand Shetty has been crowned as the ‘Femina Miss India World 2022’ at the JIO World Convention Center in Mumbai.
- She will now represent India at the prestigious 71st Miss World pageant.
- Rajasthan's Rubal Shekhawat emerged as Femina Miss India 2022 first runner-up and Shinata Chauhan from Uttar Pradesh was named Femina Miss India 2022 second runner-up.
- Sini Shetty is pursuing a professional course called CFA. She is also a trained Bharatanatyam Dancer.

- Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized narcotics worth over Rs 7.40 crore in June 2022.
- In a crackdown on narcotic substances, RPF recovered various narcotic products, including designer drugs, valued at over Rs 7.40 crore last month and arrested 165 people with Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS).
- RPF started a month-long pan-India drive against smuggling of narcotics through rail, named Operation ‘NARCOS’ in the month of June.
