Gujarat tops in "States Start-up Ranking 2021".

  • Union Minister Piyush Goyal has released the results of the third edition of Ranking of States’ Exercise 2021 on Support to Startup Ecosystems in New Delhi.
  • In the third edition of Ranking of States’ Exercise 2021, Gujarat and Karnataka emerged as the Best Performers in a category of States.
  • States’ Startup Ranking 2021 rankings, released by the department for promotion of industry and internal trade (DPIIT).
  • Meghalaya bagged the top honour among UTs and North-eastern (NE) states.
  • This is the third consecutive year that Gujarat has been recognised as the best performer.


CBSE launched a portal named "Pariksha Sangam".

  • CBSE Board launched a portal named Pariksha Sangam on 3 July to connect students, school regional offices and CBSE board headquarters to integrate examination-related processes.
  • A single window will from now be available for board examination results, sample papers, and other details. CBSE’s pariksha sangam portal can be accessed at parikshasangam.cbse.gov.in.
  • The portal is divided into three parts, namely- Schools (Ganga), Regional Offices (Yamuna) and Head Office (Saraswati).


Odisha applies for GI tag to "Kai Chutney" made from red ants.

  • Odisha has applied for the geographical indications (GI) registry of Kai Chutney under food category.
  • Kai Chutney made from red ants by the tribals of Mayurbhanj district in Odisha.
  • This food item, rich in proteins, calcium, zinc, vitamin B-12, iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium, copper, fibre and 18 amino acids, is known to boost the immune system and keep diseases at bay.
  • Applied under food category, the GI tag will help develop a structured hygiene protocol in the preparation of Kai chutney for standard wider use.
  • Geographical Indications labels enhance the reputation and value of local products and support local businesses.


All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) Director Tanuja Nesari conferred with "Ayurveda Ratna Award".

  • The UK’s All-Party Parliamentary Group on Indian Traditional Sciences (ITSappg) conferred the Ayurveda Ratna award on Tanuja Nesari, Director of All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), for her exceptional service of the highest order for the promotion of Ayurveda.
  • The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Indian Traditional Sciences was formed in 2014 with an aim to spread the knowledge of Ayurveda, Yoga, Jyotish, Vastu, Unani and Sangeetam in United Kingdom and abroad.
  • The European Parliament every year celebrates the International Day of Yoga on June 21.


State-of-the-art "Autonomous Navigation" "TiHAN" to develop unmanned ground and aerial vehicles inaugurated at IIT Hyderabad.

  • India’s first Autonomous Navigation facility, TiHAN has inaugurated by Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Science & Technology at the IIT Hyderabad campus.
  • Developed at a budget of ₹130 crore by the Union Ministry of Science & Technology, TiHAN (Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous Navigation) is a multidisciplinary initiative that will make India a global player in the futuristic and next generation smart mobility technology.
  • It’s a state-of-the-art Autonomous Navigation facility to develop unmanned ground and aerial vehicles.
