Leh airport to be developed as India's 1st carbon-neutral airport.

AAI’s Leh airport is being built as a carbon-neutral airport, a 1st in India.
A Geothermal system in hybridization with Solar PV Plant will be provided in the new airport Terminal Building for heating and cooling purposes.
This system works by exchanging heat between the air & the ground as its heat pumps are used for space heating & cooling, as well as water heating.
The main feature of this process is that naturally existing heat is concentrated and used.
It is estimated that 900 ton of carbon emissions per year will be reduced after adopting the Geothermal system at the Leh Airport Terminal Building project.

Ola Electric has unveiled India’s 1st indigenously developed lithium ion cell.
The company will begin mass production of the cell (NMC 2170) from its Chennai-based Gigafactory by 2023.
The company was recently allocated 20GWh capacity under the ACC PLI scheme by the govt for developing advanced cells in India.
The Ola Electric had launched its 1st electric vehicle in August 2021 and has also set up the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturing facility in India.

Bhagwani Devi, a 94-year-old sprinter from India, won the gold medal in the 100 m sprint at the World Masters Athletics Championships held in Tampere. She won the gold with a timing of 24.74 seconds.
Bhagwani also bagged a bronze medal in shot put.
World Masters Athletics Championships was held in Tampere from June 29 - July 10.
It is a world championship-calibre event for the sport of athletics (track and field) for male and female athletes aged 35 years and over.

The IAF Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence under the aegis of UDAAN inaugurated by Air Marshal Sandeep Singh, Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS) at Air Force Station Rajokri, New Delhi.
A Big Data Analytics and Al Platform has been commissioned in the IAF’s Al Centre, for handling all aspects of Analytics, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Neural Networks and Deep Learning algorithms.
The high-end compute requirements would be undertaken by the latest Graphical Processing Unit powered servers.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai has become the first railway station in India to be equipped with augmented reality screens.
The futuristic technology will allow passengers at the station to get real-time digitised time table with a dedicated scrolling screen and railway information for an engaging experience.
The passengers will also be able to meet animals, witness magic tricks and snowfall, and visit any place in the world virtually.
The project at Mumbai’s busiest railway station aims to generate revenue for Central Railway and offer passengers fun and infotainment during wait periods.
