India overtakes China as top lender to Sri Lanka.

India has emerged as the top lender to Sri Lanka, extending USD 376.9 million worth credit compared to USD 67.9 million by China in the first four months of this year to rescue the island nation from the unprecedented political crisis and economic turmoil.
India's disbursements of foreign loans and grants from January 1 to April 30, 2022 were 376.9 USD million compared to China which was only 67.9 USD million.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) used to be the second largest lender in this period.
India also emerged as the first responder under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's neighbourhood first policy when Sri Lanka was left alone by its so-called benefactors for funding support.

Assam and Arunachal Pradesh signed the Namsai Declaration in a step towards resolving their seven-decade old boundary dispute.
The declaration was signed at Namsai in Arunachal Pradesh following the third round of meetings on the issue between chief minister Pema Khandu and his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The two states share an 804-km long boundary.
Though there was no dispute initially, over the years, allegations of residents of one state encroaching land on the other have led to disputes and violence.
A suit has been pending in Supreme Court since 1989 on the issue.

Manoj Kumar has assumed the charge as Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).
His predecessor Vinai Kumar Saxena was appointed the Lt Governor of Delhi on May 23.
Kumar, who has worked as Expert Member (Marketing) at KVIC, has a vast experience in the areas of marketing and rural development.

Uday Umesh Lalit, the chairman of the National Legal Services Authority, has launched India’s first AI-powered digital Lok Adalat.
The digital Lok Adalat by Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority (RSLSA) has been designed and developed by Jupitice Justice Technologies.
Jupitice has designed and developed a private digital court for the private justice system.
This platform will be used to dispose off pending disputes or disputes that are at the pre-litigation stage.

Lleyton Hewitt, a two-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one has been inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
Hewitt won the 2001 US Open and 2002 Wimbledon titles among 30 career ATP triumphs and helped Australia capture the Davis Cup in 1999 and 2003.
The ceremony was staged on the court where Hewitt won his first ATP grass court match as a teen in 1998.
Hewitt finished with a career record of 616-262 in ATP singles play.
