Indian Carnatic vocalist, Aruna Sairam honoured with Chevalier Award.

  • Carnatic vocalist, Aruna Sairam was honoured with the French government's highest honour- Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des award.
  • She was selected for her singing prowess and her contribution towards development of the Indo-France relationship.
  • She has started her classical training under her mother, Rajalakshmi Sethuraman.
  • She is a disciple of legendary vocalist, Sangita Kalanidhi T. Brinda.
  • Aruna Sairam is recipient of Padma Shri (2009) and the Sangita Kalanidhi.


IMFA MD, Subhrakant Panda appointed as President of FICCI.

  • The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has appointed Subhrakant Panda as President, who is currently serving as Senior Vice President of FICCI.
  • He is also serving as the Managing Director of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd. (IMFA).
  • He will succeed Sanjiv Mehta (CEO & Managing Director, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL)) as President at the 95th Annual General Meeting, scheduled to be held on December 16 and December 17, 2022.


Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurates "Baji Rout National Football Tournament".

  • Union Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan has inaugurated the Baji Rout National Football Tournament in Dhenkanal in Odisha.
  • Aim: To attract the younger generation towards football.
  • Recently, the govt of India has signed an MoU with FIFA and All India Football Federation for Football For School initiative.
  • Under the programme, the govt has been targeted to rope about two crore fifty lakh school students towards football.


Madhya Pradesh government launched Ladli Laxmi 2.0.

  • Madhya Pradesh CM, Shivraj Singh Chouhan has launched the flagship scheme Ladli Laxmi 2.0 with an aim to encourage girls to pursue higher education and make them independent.
  • They will also provide monetary benefits to eligible girl children to ensure quality education.
  • The scheme had also ensure that the parents must not marry their girl child before the age of 18.
  • CM has also announced Ladli Laxmi Vatika (garden), that will be developed in every district of MP.


Vishal Kapoor appointed as CEO of Energy Efficiency Services Ltd.

  • Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has appointed Vishal Kapoor as its chief executive officer (CEO).
  • He replaced Arun Kumar Mishra, who hold this position last year.
  • He will take charge after completing his tenure as the joint secretary at the Ministry of Power.
  • As joint secretary, he led various government interventions, schemes, and reforms in the distribution sector.
