India ranked 87th in the world strongest passport list 2022.

  • UAE passport has been ranked as world’s strongest and most powerful, according to Global Passport Power Rank 2022 list released by Arton Capital.
  • India has ranked 87 in the world's strongest passport list and Pakistani passport is at 94th rank in the list.
  • UAE is followed by Germany, Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, Spain, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and South Korea. The citizen of these countries can travel to 173 countries without a visa.
  • Passport Index 2022 is the ranking of the world's strongest and weakest passports. The passport ranking tells the number of countries one can enter without acquiring a visa.


ISRO to develop Spatial Data Infrastructure geoportal for Ladakh.

  • The Government of the Union Territory of Ladakh has approached the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) for developing “Spatial Data Infrastructure geoportal ‘Geo-Ladakh’ for UT-Ladakh.
  • The Geo Ladakh Project encompasses spatial database generation (water resources, vegetation and energy potential) using remote sensing, geospatial techniques and the development of a Geo-portal for hosting this database.
  • The project also aims towards training of UT-Ladakh officials on Geospatial techniques and applications.
  • Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) is a unit of the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO).
  • It is located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.


India ranked 5th place in 2022 Hurun Global 500 ranking valuable firms.

  • According to the 2022 Hurun Global 500 list, released by the Hurun Research Institute, India has been ranked fifth with 20 most valuable firms.
  • 11 are based in Mumbai, four in Ahmedabad and one each in Noida, New Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata.
  • Reliance Industries has topped the list of Indian companies with the valuation of $202-billion, while it ranked 34th in the world.
  • It was followed by TCS ($139 billion) and HDFC Bank ($97 billion).
  • The US has topped the list.


Meghalaya awarded for TB control programme.

  • The Meghalaya government has been awarded for its initiative jan andolan (people’s movement) against Tuberculosis at a national workshop on ACSM to end TB in India.
  • The award was presented in the category of Best Practice in Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilisation in Tuberculosis control to representatives of state's health department.
  • PM Modi had put a national target to eliminate the disease by 2025.

Kerala seed farm declared as first carbon neutral farm in the country.

  • Kerala CM, Pinarayi Vijayan has declared a seed farm, located in Aluva, as the first carbon neutral farm in the country.
  • The total amount of carbon emission from the seed farm in the last one year was 43 tons but its overall procurement was 213 ton.
  • Compared to the emission rate, as many as 170 tons of more carbon have been procured at the farm, which helped it to be declared as the first carbon neutral seed farm in the country.
