President of India inaugurates Gaj Utsav-2023.

The Gaj Utsav-2023 was inaugurated at the Kaziranga National Park by the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu.
The Gaj Utsav 2023 is a significant event in India that commemorates the 30th anniversary of Project Elephant, a flagship conservation initiative launched by the Indian government in 1992.
The event aims to promote awareness about the conservation of elephants and their habitats, reduce human-elephant conflicts, and ensure the welfare of captive elephants.
These activities are designed to engage the public and raise awareness about the importance of elephant conservation.

Kerala State Inland Navigation Corporation (KSINC) has launched a solar-powered tourist boat called Sooryamshu that can produce 27 KW of energy.
The boat also comes equipped with generators, which will help power passenger lift systems and air-conditioners.
The solar panels will provide about 75% of the vessel’s energy needs, while the rest will be met by the generators.
The boat was built in Sri Lanka for Rs. 3.95 crores.

Prashthan exercise is held every 6 months under Indian Navy and involves the participation of all stakeholders in the maritime domain.
It is an important element of ensuring offshore security and aims to integrate the efforts of all maritime stakeholders.
It was conducted on the Greatdrill Chaaya platform, which is about 30 nm South West of Mumbai Harbour.
Personnel from Maharashtra Police, Customs, Fisheries Department, Mumbai Port Authority, etc also participated in it.

Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) has conducted a large-scale Joint Military Exercise Ex KAVACH involving the assets of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard.
KAVACH exercise began on 23rd February 2023 and concluded on April 7, 2023.
Aim: Fine-tuning joint warfare capabilities & SOPs and enhancing interoperability and operational synergy between the forces.
ANC is the first integrated theatre command in India with headquarters at Port Blair.

A Slovenian lawyer, Aleksander Ceferin has been re-elected unopposed as UEFA president for a four-year term (2023-27).
He was elected as the seventh president of UEFA in 2016 to replace Michel Platini, who was banned from the football administration due to ethics violations.
The UEFA Champions League is an annual club football competition.
It is organized by the Union of European Football Associations and contested by top-division European clubs.
