Uttar Pradesh becomes 1st state to make digital health cards for children.

• Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in the country to make digital health cards for children.
• In order to provide quality education to every student, Yogi Government has started ‘School Health Program’ under Urban Development Department and Lucknow Smart City.
• Under the pilot project, School Health Program has been started by Lucknow Smart City in three schools of Lucknow.
• In this, a digital health report card is being prepared for the physical and mental health of 1765 students studying in municipal schools.
• Along with this, the benefit of health insurance of Rs 25 thousand is also being given to these children.

The 42nd ASEAN Summit begins in Indonesia.

• The 42nd Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) started in Indonesia on May 8, 2023.
• 2023 theme: ASEAN Affairs: Epicenter of Growth.
• Aim: To demonstrate the bloc’s hopes and efforts to become the center and driving force behind global development.
• ASEAN is an organization formed by the governments of Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore in 1967.
• Aim: To promote economic growth in the Southeast Asian region.

Ban diesel four-wheelers in cities with 10 lakh population: Panel.

• According to a report commissioned by the oil ministry, India should ban the use of diesel-powered four-wheelers in cities with over 10 lakh population by 2027 and switch to electric and gas-fuelled vehicles.

• It has also suggested phasing out motorcycles, scooters, and three-wheelers with internal combustion engines by 2035

• Barbara Kingsolver (American Novelist) and Hernan Diaz (Argentina Writer) were awarded the Pulitzer Prize 2023 in the fiction category.
• Barbara Kingsolver was awarded for her novel Demon Copperhead and Hernan Diaz won for his novel Trust.

Vistara Becomes 1st Indian Airline to Operate Domestic Flight with Sustainable Fuel.

• The trailer of Love in 90s, the first film made in Tagin language of Arunachal Pradesh, was launched by Union Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju on 6th May in New Delhi.
• The film "Love in 90s" will be tax free and that he will ask the state government to promote it through other means as well.
• The film depicts the vibrant and colorful world of the 90s, based on the Tagin community in Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh and the first film made entirely in Tagin language.
• Directed by Tapen Natam, the film brings to the national platform the rich culture, tradition and local filmmaking initiatives of Arunachal Pradesh.
