  • Mahindra Group's CEO, Anish Shah, has been appointed as the President-elect of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
  • Shah will succeed Subhrakant Panda (Managing Director of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd).
  • Mr Shah is also the Managing Director of M&M, the parent company of the Mahindra Group.

  • It is being organized by the India Mission of ASEAN.
  • The festival aims to raise awareness and create a market for millet and millet-based products among ASEAN member states.
  • In line with the International Year of Millet celebrations, the festival aims to raise awareness and create markets for millet and millet-based products among ASEAN member countries i.e. Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar.
  • It is noteworthy that the year 2023 has been declared the International Millet Year by the United Nations.

Afghanistan announces permanent closure of embassy in India.

  • Afghanistan Embassy in India permanently closes due to persistent challenges from the Indian government, following earlier cessation of operations.
  • This comes after the Afghanistan Embassy had announced on September 30 that it is ceasing its operations from October 1.
  • The mission had back then cited a lack of support from the host government, failure to meet expectations in serving Afghanistan’s interests and reduction in personnel and resources.
