Himalayan Wolf classified as "Vulnerable" on IUCN Red List.

• Himalayan Wolf has been assessed for the first time on the IUCN Red List, categorizing it as Vulnerable.
• The estimated population of 2,275-3,792 mature adults faces ongoing decline, primarily due to threats such as depredation conflict, habitat modification, and illegal hunting.
• Recommendations from the IUCN include securing wild prey populations, improving livestock guarding methods.

CM Stalin to inaugurate State-of-the-Art Madurai Jallikattu Stadium.

• Chief Minister MK Stalin to inaugurate the newly-built Madurai Jallikattu stadium on January 23.
• The stadium, near Alanganallur, is named after former CM M Karunanidhi, with a seating capacity of over 5,000.
• Costing Rs. 44 crores, the facility boasts VIP seating, a museum, bull shed, veterinary dispensary, and health support center.

"Bhishm", a 25T Bollard Pull Tug, launched in "Make in India" triumph.

• Inaugurated by Cmde S Sreekumar in Kolkata, Bhishm is part of a series of six tugs constructed at M/s Titagarh Rail Systems under the Make in India initiative.
• Aligned with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, these tugs follow the classification rules of the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS).
• Enhance naval operations, tugs will assist in berthing, un-berthing, maneuvering, firefighting

• Central Government approves Ritu Goswami as Director (Technical) at Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) Limited.
• Goswami, presently GM (Technical) at NFL, selected from 11 candidates recommended by PESB in August 2023.
• As Director (Technical), she will play a crucial role in overseeing efficient plant operations and serving as a principal adviser on technical matters.

Vekoli's CMD Manoj Kumar honored with IMMA Lifetime Achievement Award.

• Manoj Kumar, CMD & Executive Director of Western Coalfields Limited (Vekoli), received the prestigious IMMA Lifetime Achievement Award.
• The award was presented during the National Seminar on Green Mining Initiatives: Indian Mineral Industry Perspective at Hotel Tuli International, Nagpur.
• Kumar, in his leadership role, has significantly contributed to advancements in coal production.
