PM Modi to inaugurate Global Textile Expo-Bharat Tex 2024.

• PM Modi will inaugurate Global Textile Expo-Bharat Tex 2024 on 26th February in New Delhi.
• The four-day-long Bharat Tex will be spread over 22 lakh square feet of exhibition area across Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi.
• The Expo will also witness the launch of Textiles Grand Innovation Challenge aimed at identifying futuristic circular solutions.

UAE dropped from FATF’s financial crime watch list.

• The UAE has been dropped from a global watchdog's list of countries at risk of illicit money flows.
• The EU still lists the UAE as a high-risk country for money laundering and terrorist financing, along with countries like South Africa, North Korea and Afghanistan.
• FATF founded in 1989 on the initiative of the G7 to develop policies to combat money laundering and to maintain certain interest.

Vietnam aims to produce 1-5 lakh tonnes of hydrogen by 2030.

• Vietnam aims to produce 100,000-500,000 metric tonnes of hydrogen per year by 2030 as part of its energy transition efforts.
• The country's hydrogen development strategy, adopted earlier in the month, outlines plans to increase the output to 10-20 million tonnes by 2050, which would include green hydrogen.

Suresh Wadkar receives Lata Mangeshkar Award.

• Veteran playback singer Suresh Wadkar has been honoured with the Gansamragini Lata Mangeshkar Award.
• Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis presented him with special mementoes.
• In 2021, he also became a recipient of Padma Shri, The fourth-highest civilian award in the Republic of India.

Central University of Bihar granted Category-1 status from UGC.

• The University Grants Commission (UGC) granted Category-1 status to the Central University of Bihar (CUSB), a first for a university in the state.
• CUSB, which was set up in 2009 and received the highest A++ rating from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in June 2023.
• There are 56 central universities, of which less than 10 are in UGC’s Category-1 currently.
