India to invest 67 Billion in Natural Gas Sector over next six years.

• The investment will provide Natural Gas to the end consumer at a stable price and help the country become a gas-based economy.
• The current measures planned by the Centre in the field of natural gas will lead to a three-fold increase in natural gas consumption by 2030.

Scindia inaugurates country's 1st Green Hydrogen plant in steel sector.

• India's 1st Green Hydrogen Plant in Stainless Steel at Jindal Stainless Limited, Hisar.
• The plant will be the world’s first off-grid Green Hydrogen plant for the stainless steel industry and the world’s first Green Hydrogen plant with rooftop and floating solar.
• The project will reduce carbon emissions by 2700 Metric Tonnes per annum.
• The National Green Hydrogen Mission was launched in 2021.

India’s 1st indigenous Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam.

• PM Modi witnessed commencement of Core Loading at India’s first indigenous Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu.
• PFBR has been fully designed and constructed indigenously by BHAVINI with significant contribution from more than 200 Indian industries including MSMEs.
• India will only be the second country after Russia to have commercial operating Fast Breeder Reactor.

RBI to Launch Interoperable Payment System for Internet Banking.

• RBI to launch interoperable internet banking payment system, aiming for quicker settlement, addressing delays, and enhancing user confidence in digital payments.
• India's digital transactions surged, over 90% from FY 2012-13 to 2023-24, reaching 14,726 crore by Feb 2024.
• UPI dominates digital payments, capturing nearly 80% share by 2023, evolving with advanced features like offline payments.

IPS officer Anurag Agarwal appointed head of Parliament security.

• Anurag Agarwal, a 1998 batch officer, currently serves as the Shillong-based Inspector General of the Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) North East Sector.
• Mr Agarwal will take over his new assignment at a time when the security of the Parliament House complex is being overhauled after two men jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber on December 13.
