India: The world’s second-largest producer of mobile phones.

• India now stands as the world’s second-largest producer of mobile phones at the end of the decade 2014-2024.
• The sector has transitioned from being 78% import-dependent in 2014 to 97% self-sufficiency.
• Only 3% of the total mobile phones sold in India are now imported.
• India produced 2.45 billion units of mobile phones during these 10 years, against a goal of 2.5 billion units.

Krystyna Pyszkova from Czech Republic won Miss World 2024.

• First runner-up - Yasmina Zaytoun.
• Pyszkova is the second Miss World from the Czech Republic after 2006 pageant winner Tatana Kucharova.
• India, which hosted the event after 28 years, was represented by Sini Shetty.
• India has won the title six times -- Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra (2000), and Manushi Chillar (2017).

India received "Measles and Rubella Champion" Global Award.

• The award received by Sripriya Ranganathan on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
• 50 districts consistently have not witnessed any measles cases while 226 districts have not reported rubella cases over the past 12 months in India.
• The measles and rubella partnership comprises a multi-agency planning committee, including the Red Cross, BillGates Foundation, UNICEF, and WHO.

• Droupadi Murmu to inaugurate the Mahotsav at Kanha Shanti Vanam, Hyderabad.
• Jagdeep Dhankhar to attend the valedictory of the largest global spiritual congregation, organized by Union Ministry of Culture and Heartfulness Mission.
• Theme: Inner Peace to World Peace.
• It aims at promoting solidarity among all classes, castes, and religions, echoing India's Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam ideology.

India signed $100bn free trade deal with European EFTA bloc.

• The European Free Trade Association is a trade organization and free trade area consisting of four European states- Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.
• EFTA has committed to promote investments to increase the stock of foreign direct investments by $100 billion in India in the next 15 years.
• In the last 2 years, India has signed trade agreements with Australia and the UAE.
