Chandigarh set to host International film festival.

• The five-day Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) will be held from March 27 to 31 in Chandigarh.
• Actor Boman Irani will inaugurate the event and Cannes winner French film The Taste of Things will be the inaugural film of CIFF.
• The international line-up also has Jonathan Glazer’s Oscar-winning The Zone of Interest.

Xiaomi launches first electric vehicle "SU7" in China.

• Xiaomi has pledged to invest $10 billion in autos over a decade and is among the few new players in China’s EV market.
• An app for Xiaomi’s car has been launched on Apple’s App Store in China.
• Xiaomi announced to become one of the world’s top 5 automakers.
• Its cars are being produced by a unit of state-owned automaker BAIC Group in Beijing with an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles.

Japan’s Kaori Sakamoto wins 3rd Straight World Title.

• Kaori Sakamoto won her 3rd straight figure skating world championship Friday in Montreal, becoming the first woman to achieve a singles three-peat since 1968.
• Isabeau Levito of the United States was behind Sakamoto in second place, with South Korea's Kim Chae Yeon scoring 203.59 for third.
• US skater Peggy Fleming was the last woman to achieve the world championship in 1966.

Naheed Divecha won 2 Gold Medals in Indian Masters National Badminton.

• Naheed Divecha of Maharashtra clinched 2 gold medals in the Yonex Sunrise 46th Indian Masters National Badminton Championship 2024, at Panchkula.
• She defeated Sunita Singh Panwar of Haryana to win the Women’s 50 singles final.
• Divecha along with Kiran Mokade also from Maharashtra bagged the Mixed Doubles 50 title.
• Nigel D’Sa also from Maharashtra claimed the Men’s 35 singles gold medal.
