IIT Jodhpur innovates quick disease-detecting Nanosensor.

• IIT Jodhpur develops a nanosensor for early detection of serious diseases by targeting cytokines.
• The nanosensor utilizes semiconductor technology and Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) to detect diseases in 30 minutes.
• Spearheaded by Professor Ajay Aggarwal, this advancement is poised to revolutionize treatment approaches, especially in managing autoimmune and infectious diseases.

Telecom subscribers in India increased to 119.7 crore in February.

• Urban subscribers - 66.37 crore.
• Rural subscribers - 53.13 crore.
• Broadband subscriptions also saw a rise to 91.67 crore, dominated by top 5 providers, including Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea, collectively holding 98.35% of the market share.
• The report indicates growth in both landline (1.73% increase to 3.31 crore) and wireless subscribers (0.34% increase to 116.46 crore).

USISPF appoints Tarun Bajaj as chairman of US-India Tax Forum.

• Tarun Bajaj is the former Revenue Secretary and former Secretary of Economic Affairs to the Government of India.

World faced hottest March ever: EU climate agency.

• The world experienced the hottest March ever, making it the tenth month in a row that is the warmest on record.
• The average surface air temperature was 14.14 degrees Celsius globally which was 0.73 degrees Celsius above the 1991-2020 average for March and 0.10 degrees Celsius above the previous high set in March 2016.

King Charles III receives first UK banknotes with his portrait.

• King Charles III was presented with new UK banknotes featuring his portrait.
• The banknotes will co-circulate with those bearing Queen Elizabeth II's portrait and are set to enter circulation on June 5, 2024.
• The King was presented with GBP 5, 10, 20 and 50 notes.
• Queen Elizabeth II, was the first monarch to appear on a Bank of England note in 1960.
