GeM portal marks over ten fold growth in two year, Rs 80K crore saved.

• The Government E Marketplace (GeM) daily order value has increased ten times in the two years, rising from Rs 106 crore in 2021 to Rs 1106 crore in FY 2023-24.
• The Government e Marketplace is an online platform for public procurement in India.
• Launched by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry with the objective to create an open and transparent procurement platform for government buyers.

Finance Ministry introduced measures to combat cyber fraud.

• NCRB reported 1.1+ million cyber fraud cases, totalling Rs 7,488.63 crore in 2023, highlighting urgent need for robust cybersecurity measures.
• Finance Ministry proposed stringent actions to shield citizens from such scams, evident from the recent Bank of Baroda World app fraud.
• Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) established by MHA to spearhead national efforts against cybercrime.

Chandigarh University topped QS World University Ranking by Subjects.

• Chandigarh University figures among the world's top 100 universities in 2 subjects, and 1st in India in 3 subjects among private universities in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024.
• Among the private universities, Chandigarh University secured top rank in India in three subjects - Hospitality Management, Petroleum Engineering, Social Sciences & Management.

Ola aims for Fashion and Grocery expansion with ONDC.

• Ola Mobility is eyeing a diversification of its e-commerce offerings on the back of ONDC collaboration.
• The company is working on giving its user base an option to purchase groceries, fashion and apparel via its app.
• Open Network for Digital Commerce, is a private non-profit company established by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade to develop open e-commerce.

Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport is the 10th busiest airport.

• Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport is the tenth busiest airport in the world in 2023 with 7.22 crore passengers.
• The IGI Airport was ranked 9th in 2022, 13th in 2021, and the 17th busiest airport in 2019 according to The Airports Council International (ACI).
• The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the United States held the top rank with 10.46 crore passengers.
