India's population estimated to double in next 77 years: UNFPA report.

• Now India leads globally with an estimated population of 144.17 crore, followed by China at 142.5 crore with 24% in the 0-14 age bracket.
• The United Nations Population Fund's (UNFPA) State of World Population - 2024 report - Interwoven Lives, Threads of Hope: Ending Inequalities in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights - revealed that India's population is estimated to double in 77 years.

IIT-Madras launched mobile medical devices calibration facility.

• IIT Madras launched India's first mobile medical devices calibration facility, enhancing healthcare accuracy.
• The facility can calibrate 45 types of life-saving devices like defibrillators and dialysis meters for reliable patient treatment.
• It aims to support rural hospitals by providing accessible calibration, improving healthcare standards nationwide.

RSSDI & Koita Foundation launched new Centre for Digital Diabetology.

• Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), Asia's largest diabetes care physician association, partnered with Koita Foundation to establish the RSSDI–Koita Centre for Digital Diabetology (KCDD).
• The center aims to enhance diabetes treatment and patient experience, making care more accessible and affordable, while also promoting training, capacity building, and R&D.

Time's 100 Most Influential People of 2024 list in the world released.

• World Bank President Ajay Banga, Alia Bhatt, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, and Wrestler Sakshi Malik are among the Indians on the list.
• It also includes US Department of Energy's Loan Office director Jigar Shah, Professor of Astronomy at Yale University.
• Priyamvada Natarajan; Indian-origin restaurateur Asma Khan; as well as Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny's widow Yulia Navalnaya.

India clinches 2 silver, 2 bronze medals at Mathematical Olympiad 2024.

• The Indian team showcased exceptional talent at the 13th European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad 2024 held in Tskaltubo, Georgia, securing 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals.
• Participants Gunjan Agarwal and Sanjana Philo Chacko won Silver, while Larissa and Saee Patil bagged Bronze.
• The team was led by Shri Sahil Mhaskar (Leader), Ms. Aditi Muthkhod (Deputy Leader), and Ms. Ananya Ranade (Observer).
