ISRO marks caution on unprecedented melting of Himalayan Glaciers.

• ISRO's satellite data analysis (1984-2023) showed significant melting in the Indian Himalayas, causing glacial lakes to expand.
• 676 out of 2,431 examined glacial lakes have more than doubled in size, indicating potential risks like GLOFs that could impact downstream communities.
• The phenomenon, linked to climate change, has affected crucial water sources and has created flooding risks.

Reliance Jio emerges world's largest mobile operator in data traffic.

• The total traffic on the Jio network has reached 40.9 Exabytes, marking a 35.2% year-on-year increase.
• As of March 2024, Jio boasts a subscriber base of 481.8 million, out of which 108 million subscribers are on Jio's True5G Standalone network.
• Per capita monthly data usage rose to 28.7 GB from just 13.3 GB in three years.

IFFCO to begin production of Nano Urea Plus.

• Nano Urea Plus is a new version of nano urea meant for meeting crop nitrogen requirements at critical growth phases.
• The Nano Urea Plus fertilizer has 16 percent nitrogen content weight by weight.
• Nano Urea Plus is a chlorophyll charger and yield booster and helps in climate-smart farming.
• IFFCO launched the world's first Nano Liquid Urea fertilizer in June 2021.

NASA's Voyager 1 restores data link after 5-month silence.

• Voyager 1, Currently, 15 billion miles away from Earth, is sending back data for the first time since November last year.
• Voyager 1 stopped sending readable science and engineering data back to Earth on Nov. 14, 2023.
• NASA JPL identified a memory issue in one of the spacecraft's computers, ingeniously relocating essential code to resume data transmission.

J&K Govt mandated digital signature certificate for all officials.

• J&K government requires officers and officials to use Digital Signature Certificates or Aadhaar-based e-signatures for e-file signings.
• The mandate aims for a secure, digital working environment and to prevent unauthorized access in the e-office system.
• The implementation starts on June 1, as per the IT Act 2000, across all departments and public sector units to enhance cybersecurity.
