Vedanta Group plans to invest $20 billion in India in 4 years.

• Vedanta Group, led by Anil Agarwal, plans to invest $20 billion in India over the next four years, focusing on technology, electronics, and glass businesses, and exploring expansion into the semiconductor and glass manufacturing sectors.
• The group has expressed readiness to sell its steel business but only at the right price, emphasizing that the business is profitable with a dedicated team.

Number of Telecom Subscribers in the country increased to 119.9 Crore.

• The number of telephone subscribers in India has increased from 1,19.77 crore at the end of February 2024 to 1,19.93 crore at the end of March 2024 which is a 0.13% increase.
• The number of broadband customers has increased to 92.4 crore in March.

Mining Sector recorded record production in the financial year 2023-24.

• The Mineral Production Index for March 2024 was 156.1, which is 1.2% higher than the level for March 2023.
• Production of Iron ore - 277 MMT - (7.4% increase)
• Production of limestone - 406.5 MMT - (10.7% increase)
• Production of aluminum - 41.59 Lakh Tonn - (2.1% increase)
• Iron ore and limestone together constitute about 80 percent of the total MCDR mineral production by value.

Pakistan officially adopted the Indian way of Yoga.

• Islamabad’s Capital Development Authority (CDA) initiated free yoga classes at F-9 Park, promoting health and wellness in Pakistan.
• The move was appreciated by residents, highlighting yoga's growing popularity and potential to send positive cross-border messages amidst India-Pakistan tensions.
• Yoga was mentioned in the Hindu text Rigveda.
• Patanjali is known as the father of modern yoga.
