India’s Foreign Exchange Reserves surged to $644.15 billion.

  • India’s foreign exchange reserves surged for the second straight week, by USD 2.561 billion to USD 644.151 billion in the week that ended on May 10.
  • The nation’s foreign exchange reserves had recently achieved an all-time high of USD 648.562 billion.
  • However, in 2024, foreign exchange reserves have cumulatively increased by about USD 23 billion so far.

India-UAE conclude first round of talks on Economic Corridor.

  • Initial discussions on the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor took place between India and UAE, following a framework agreement.

New Permanent Judges for Gauhati HC Appointed by Supreme Court.

  • The Supreme Court Collegium has endorsed Justice Susmita Phukan Khaund and Justice Mitali Thakuria as permanent Judges of the Gauhati High Court.
  • Additionally, Justice Rajesh Sekhri's appointment as an Additional Judge in the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has been extended for another year from 29 July 2024.
  • The decision was made by Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud.


Nishad Kumar and Preethi Pal secured Medals at World Para Athletics.

  • Nishad Kumar and Preethi Pal clinch silver and bronze at the World Para Athletics Championships in Kobe, Japan.
  • Kumar, a Paralympic silver medalist, secures India’s first medal with a 1.99m high jump in the T47 category, finishing second.
