Portugal to use golden visa scheme to help migrants.

• Portugal to adapt golden visa scheme to allow wealthy foreigners seeking residency rights to invest in property.
• The scheme – called a solidarity visa, would complement an existing program, which since 2012 has offered non-EU nationals who invest in Portugal the right to live.
• The golden visa scheme has attracted more than 7.3 billion euros ($7.94 billion) of funds since its launch.

Priyanka Jarkiholi is the youngest tribal woman to win in Loksabha.

• Priyanka Jarkiholi from Chikkodi became the youngest tribal woman to enter Parliament from an unreserved seat in Karnataka since Independence.
• Priyanka Jarkiholi has defeated incumbent MP and BJP leader Annasaheb Jolle.
• Priyanka became the first Jarkiholi to ever win a Lok Sabha election.
• She is the daughter of Satish Jarkiholi, minister of the Public Works Department, Karnataka.

Vellayan Subbiah named EY World Entrepreneur of the year 2024.

• Vellayan Subbiah, Executive Vice-Chairman of Tube Investments of India and Chairman of Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Co Ltd. has been named the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024.
• Subbiah is the fourth Indian to receive this coveted award. Earlier it was given to NR Narayana Murthy, Uday Kotak and Kiran Majumdar Shaw.
• He was the MD of Cholamandalam Investment and Finance.

EarthCARE Satellite launched, aimed to boost climate insights.

• European Space Agency's EarthCARE satellite, launched to study cloud, aerosol, radiation interactions, aims to enhance climate understanding.
• Joint venture with JAXA, contributing advanced cloud profiling radar to increase global climate model accuracy.
• Launched aboard a Falcon 9 rocket, crucial for advancing scientific knowledge and developing mitigation strategies against climate change.

Haryana govt removed age limit on scheme for farmers, farm labourers.

• Haryana government removed age limits for Mukhyamantri Kisan Evam Khetihar Mazdoor Jeevan Suraksha Yojana.
• This scheme offers financial aid for death/disability incidents involving agricultural machinery.
• Now it is inclusive for individuals younger than 10 and older than 65, expanding beneficiary coverage.
