BIS introduced new standards to boost Electric Vehicle safety in India.

  • The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has introduced two new standards, IS 18590: 2024 and IS 18606: 2024, to enhance the safety and performance of electric vehicle powertrains and batteries in the L, M, and N categories.
  • The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the National Standards Body of India under Department of Consumer affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution.


Amit Shah launched Fast Track Immigration Program at Delhi Airport.

  • The Fast Track Immigration - Trusted Traveller Program at Delhi's IGI Airport aims to provide shorter immigration facilities for Indian nationals and OCI passengers using automated e-Gates.
  • The FTI-TTP, available free of charge, ensures faster immigration clearance, minimal human intervention, initially covering Indian citizens and OCI cardholders, and later extending to foreign travellers.


Sino-French satellite launched to study Gamma-Ray Bursts.

  • China and France launched their most powerful satellite yet, aimed at studying the farthest explosions of stars, including gamma-ray bursts.
  • The satellite, named Space Variable Objects Monitor, was launched from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan, China.
  • This follows their previous joint effort with the China-France Oceanography Satellite launched in 2018.


SAMEER and MCTE partnered to enhance Indian Army's tech capabilities.

  • Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering & Research (SAMEER) and Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) signed an MoU to advance Next Generation Wireless Technologies for the Indian Army.
  • The collaboration aims to establish an Advanced Military Research and Incubation Centre at MCTE, focusing on advanced wireless technologies, AI, quantum computing, etc.
