Sujata Saunik becomes first woman Chief Secretary of Maharashtra.

• Sujata Saunik, a 1987 batch IAS officer, became Maharashtra's first female Chief Secretary when she took over from retiring Chief Secretary Nitin Kareer.
• Earlier, Sujata Saunik worked as additional chief secretary in the Home Department and General Administration Department, Government of Maharashtra.

• Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani has taken over as the Vice Chief of Army Staff.
• He previously served as General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Command in Lucknow.
• Commissioned in 1985 into The Garhwal Rifles, General Subramani has over 37 years of service.
• He has received multiple awards, including the Param Vishisht Seva Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.

Shah Rukh Khan to Receive Career Achievement Award at Locarno Festival.

• Shah Rukh Khan is set to be awarded with the Locarno Film Festival’s career achievement award, which is the prestigious Pardo alla Carriera.
• Shah Rukh will receive the award on August 10 at the open-air venue Piazza Grande. One of his most-celebrated film, Devdas, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, will also be screened during the festival.
