Commemorative stamps to celebrate Paris Olympics released.

  • Government of India released commemorative postage stamps for the Paris Olympics on August 5, 2024, at Rang Bhawan, All India Radio, New Delhi.
  • The event honored the spirit of sportsmanship, unity, and dedication of athletes, symbolizing India's support for the Olympics.
  • The Department of Posts aims to inspire young athletes by commemorating significant events through special postage stamps.


India and World Bank collaborated on Green National Highway Project.

  • India and the World Bank signed an agreement to construct the Green National Highway Corridors Project (GNHCP), covering 781 km in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh, with a $500 million loan assistance.
  • The GNHCP focuses on climate resilience, green technologies, and conservation of natural resources, utilizing materials like reclaimed asphalt and waste plastic.


e-Sakshya, e-Summon, Nyaya Setu, and Nyaya Shruti apps launched by MHA.

  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched e-Sakshya, e-Summon, Nyaya Setu, and Nyaya Shruti apps in Chandigarh for implementing three new criminal laws: BNS, BNSS, and BSA, aimed at reforming India's justice system with a focus on justice over punishment.
  • The new technology-based laws, expected to be fully implemented in Chandigarh, promise timely justice with SC judgments within three years.


Scholarships to 1645 Children Released under CIL ASHIS Scheme.

  • Coal India Limited launched a noble Corporate Social Responsibility initiative- CIL ASHIS (Ayushman Shiksha Sahayata) to provide scholarships to 1645 children who lost their parents to covid & were unable to continue their studies further.
  • Under this, a scholarship worth Rs 45,000 per child per year will be given to eligible children for a period of 4 years to enable them to complete studies.


NIT-Calicut launched "Nivahika" Data Management Portal.

  • NIT-Calicut unveiled Nivahika, a web portal for precise data management, aiding in national rankings and Centre’s submissions.
  • Developed with support from Centre for Information Technology, the portal allows systematic recording & secure access to crucial data for authorized personnel.
  • It aims to pioneer among other NITs with its automated report generation & streamlined data availability.
