West Bengal to establish five new POCSO Fast Track Courts.

• West Bengal government will establish 5 new POCSO fast-track special courts, increasing the total to 67, with 6 additional e-POCSO courts.
• The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, aims to safeguard children from sexual abuse and exploitation.
• E-POCSO System: Includes an online complaint management platform, the POCSO e-box, to streamline reporting and handling of cases.

Maharashtra to launch Tribal University in Nashik with 80% Reservation.

• Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan announced the establishment of a Tribal University in Nashik.
• The university will offer 80% reservation for tribal students and feature advanced infrastructure for IT and engineering.
• The initiative aims to drive social development and improve healthcare facilities in the district.

President honoured nurses with National Florence Nightingale Awards.

Indian-Origin Lecturer Prasanthi Ram won Singapore Literature Prize.

• Prasanthi Ram, a 32-year-old lecturer at Nanyang Technological University, has won the Singapore Literature Prize for her debut short story cycle, Nine Yard Sarees.
• The collection explores the lives of a Tamil Brahmin family across multiple generations and locations, including Singapore, Sydney, and New York, reflecting themes of migration, identity, and cultural evolution.
