India Sends Aid to Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam Affected by Typhoon Yagi.

• India has dispatched humanitarian aid to Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam under Operation Sadbhav to assist victims of Typhoon Yagi, a powerful storm that hit the South China Sea region.
• The aid included dry rations, medicines, blankets, water purification kits, and generators, with 10 tonnes sent to Laos, 10 tonnes to Myanmar via INS Satpura, and 35 tonnes to Vietnam by Indian Air Force aircraft.

Global Bio-India 2024 successfully concludes at New Delhi.

• The fourth edition of Global Bio-India 2024 successfully concluded in New Delhi, organized by the Department of Biotechnology and BIRAC from September 12-14, 2024.
• The event highlighted India's potential in Biotech Innovation and Bio-manufacturing, featuring the unveiling of 11 new products by Indian biotech startups.
• Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the event.

Indian Navy Women Embark on Global Circumnavigation Expedition.

• After 3 years of rigorous preparation, Lt Cdr Roopa and Lt Cdr Dilna will circumnavigate the globe aboard INSV Tarini as part of Navika Sagar Parikrama II.
• As part of the 6-member crew, officers had participated in the trans-oceanic expedition from Goa to Rio de Janeiro via Cape Town and back last year.
• The expedition promotes maritime heritage, seamanship skills, and gender equality.

SpaceX Polaris Dawn Mission Crew Returns to Earth.

• SpaceX's Polaris Dawn mission concluded on September 15, 2024, with a successful splashdown off the coast of Dry Tortugas, Florida.
• The crew included:
• Jared Isaacman (Commander)
• Scott Kidd Poteet (US Air Force pilot)
• Anna Menon, and Sarah Gillis (SpaceX engineers).
• It completed the world’s first commercial spacewalk.
• It marked the farthest journey by humans since NASA’s Apollo Program.

PSPB Wins 4th Hockey India Senior Men Inter-Department Championship.

• The Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) clinched the title by narrowly defeating the Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) in a thrilling shootout.
• In the shootout, PSPB's Sumit Kumar, Shilanand Lakra, and Devindar Walmiki scored, with goalkeeper Pankaj Kumar Rajak securing the victory.
• Services won third place by defeating FCI 4-0 at Major Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Pimpri.
